Proline Finally Receives Uganda Cup Prize Money

Money delayed is not money denied. 2018/2019 Stanbic Uganda Cup winners, Proline Football Club has finally received their prize money.

FUFA cleared Proline’s winning prize money of UGX 40 Million while runners up Bright Stars received their token worth UGX 20 Million.

The semi-finalists also part away with UGX 10 million while quarterfinalists get UGX 5 Million each.

In addition to the prize money, Proline was also refunded their $10,000 after taking part in the continental showpiece. The money is paid to the local federation before team participates as security, and later refunded after the team is eliminated.

Proline beat Bright Stars 5-4 on penalties after a one all draw in normal time on the 25th of May last year at Masaka Recreation playground, a victory that saw them crowned champions.

The prize money is a huge boost for the relegation threatened side and might be used to settle the players’ salary arrears.

Proline is today playing against KCCA in the Uganda Premier League at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
