Rubanda Man Lynched Over Defilement

A 35-year-old man in Bubaare sub county, in Rubanda district was on Tuesday morning lynched by a mob for allegedly defiling a teenager.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesman identifies the deceased as Arinaitwe Barlison, a resident of Mungaaro village in Bubaare sub county.

According to the police spokesman, Arinaitwe was stoned to death by angry residents who suspected him to have defiled an unidentified underage girl.

Maate says he was run after and killed in Nyakabungo village by the mob, which later disappeared leaving the body lying in a pool of blood.

Maate says police has commenced investigations as the body was taken to Kabale referral hospital for postmortem.
