CHAN 2020: Four Miss Cranes Training on Day One

Uganda Cranes have today kicked off preparations for the upcoming African Nations Championship with a training session on Monday.

The team is involved in a residential training session at GEMS Cambridge International School Butabika. Notably though, four players didn’t turn up despite being summoned on the provisional squad.

The four absentees were KCCA trio of goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, defender John Revita, and left back, Kizza Mustafa together with the Vipers Captain, Halid Lwaliwa.

Lukwago and Revita are both out with an injury though hope be back in training very soon. Lukwago sustained an injury against Express FC in the league and missed their last match against Police while his compatriot, Revita has been on the sidelines for his club’s last couple of games.

Kizza Mustafa is said to have left the country chasing for a possible fruitful deal while Lwaliwa is still nursing an injury.

The rest of the squad turned up for the training session on Monday morning.

Before the continental showpiece, Uganda will take part in a Pre-CHAN tournament slated for 17th – 21st March 2020 at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

Mali and Zambia are other two nations invited for the three day tournament.

The CHAN tournament sees the Cranes placed in group C alongside Rwanda Togo and defending champions, Morocco.
