Minister Aceng Installs Glass Shield on Office Desk to Guard against COVID-19

The Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng has installed a highly protective transparent shield on her office desk to guard her against the contagious COVID-19 infections.

Aceng said everyone should protect themselves from the highly contagious disease killing hundreds of people globally on a daily basis and infecting thousands others.

“We must protect ourselves from COVID-19. I have installed a fabricated shield in my office to ensure prevention and protection against the highly infectious COVID-19,”said Aceng.

She appealed to all citizens to also be mindful of one another and protect them from the risk of getting COVID-19.

“Let us all protect one another. Stay safe,” she concluded.

On Friday the Ministry of Health declared 98 new confirmed cases, most from Kampala.

“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 20 August 2020 confirm 98 new cases. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to 1,848,” said Ministry of Health statement.

The increasing number of infections is being blamed on public transport and failure by the city business places to adhere to standard operating procedures.

The Minister of Kampala Affairs, Betty Amongi Akena has already given strong warning that total lockdown might be reinstated to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Minister of Works, Gen. Katumba Wamala has also warned that public transport operations might be suspended again as the cases increase in the city.
