FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

First leg, Sunday 1st March, 2020

Tanzania vs Uganda

Venue: National Stadium, Dar es Salaam

Kick off: 3:00pm

Uganda U17 women head coach, Ayub Khalifa expects nothing but returning home victorious heading into today’s crucial qualifier against neighbours, Tanzania.

Uganda plays away to the Black Wizards in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers first leg of the second round at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.

In preparation for today’s clash, Khalifa, sounds optimistic about getting the desired results on the road despite the change in the kick off time.

The experienced tactician after the team’s last training session on Saturday lamented about the well preparedness of the youthful girls and signaled readiness.

“We have had our last preparation towards our game against Tanzania in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. There has been a change in the kick off time to 3:00pm which we expect to be a very hot day but we are unfazed.”

“The team is ready for the game tomorrow and they are in good shape and I assure Ugandans that we shall come back with victory tomorrow,” said a confident Khalifa

For starters, Uganda will have a lot to fight for against the Black Wizards coached by Bakari Shime.

Khalifa and his troops will aim at returning to Kampala with a first leg advantage as they prepare for the return leg in a two weeks time.

Secondly, Uganda will hope to get revenge on Tanzania, a side that previously eliminated them in the CECAFA Women’s Cup at the semifinal stage last year.

Hosts, Tanzania also eliminated Uganda from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers hence a lot is at stake today’s visitors.

Tanzania will rely on their sensational players Aisha Khamis Masaka and Clement Opa while Uganda have high hopes in skipper Juliet Nalukenge and Fauziah Najjemba.
