KCCA’s Mustafa Holds Trials Again

Roving left back, Kizza Mustafa was not part of KCCA FC’s match day squad during the goalless draw with Proline on Tuesday at Lugogo.

Questions were raised in the pre-match preparations as the left back was neither in the 18-man match day squad nor on the list of injury-hit players for the second game in a row.

KCCA gaffer, Mike Hillary Mutebi then confirmed the player’s departure for trials in Switzerland in the post-match press conference.

“He has been out of the club’s fold for the last two games and he is on trials to a certain club in Switzerland. So that’s why Eric Ssenjobe played in his absence to fill the vacant position since both are competing in the same position,” Mutebi said.

The Swiss club is currently kept secret with evidence showing that the player is likely to return home after the climax of everything.

Kiiza is also among the Uganda Cranes 34-man provisional squad summoned for the 2020 CHAN competition, and is yet to report for the residential training.

This is not the first time Kizza is having trials abroad after his move to Spanish La liga outfit, Real Valladolid fell through last year.

The gifted left footed player also had a trial in Morocco at Hassania Agadir but talks broke down between the Moroccan side and his parent club, KCCA after failing to agree on the transfer fee.

The draw sees KCCA remain in second position on 50 points while league leaders, Vipers are three points above with a game in hand against Wakiso Giants to be played on Friday.
