Uganda Cranes Midfielder Is Wanted By The Austrian Giants

Konyaspor and Uganda Cranes midfielder Farouk Maya is on the verge to join 13 times Austria league champions Red Bulls Salzburg.

The 22 years talented midfielder in 2016 was wanted by Salzburg after the end of CHAN tournament in Rwanda but Belgian side Standard Liege snatched his signature from Vipers.

Farouk Miya played 20 games, starting 13 and coming seven times from bench where he managed to score five goals and one assist.

He is well remembered in Cranes jersey for scoring the vital goal against Comoros to help Uganda Cranes qualify for 2017 AFCON since 1978.

The pacy and speedy Miya will be the second Ugandan player in history of Salzburg to play for them since the former Uganda Cranes captain Ibrahim Ssekajja who went on to win the 2011 domestic league with Red Bulls Salzburg.
