Kenya’s Ambassador to S. Sudan Collapses, Dies at His Residence
Kenya’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Chris Karumba Mburu has died under unclear circumstances.
Mburu, who formally worked as director at Kenya’s National Intelligence Service (NIS), is reported to have collapsed and died at his residence in Juba on Sunday.
Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement on Monday.
The official cause of death had not been established
The deceased was nominated to the post by President Uhuru Kenyatta in July 2018 in changes that were made to the diplomatic service.
He was appointed to the post at the same time as former Salaries and Remunerations Commission chairperson Sarah Serem (China) and former State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu (UK).
