Mbarara Accident Victim Identified

Police have identified one of the three victims of a fatal accident that took place early this morning on the Mbarara-Masaka Road.

The crash, which happened at about 6:00 at Rwegajo, Biharwe, involved a Range Rover number UAM 338Y and a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle number UEU 993F.

The Rwizi Regional Police spokesman Samson Kasasira identified one of the deceased as Frank Rweranga.

He was driving the Range Rover.

The other two victims who were on the motorcycle, have not been identified. Both bodies have been taken to Mbarara Regional Hospital mortuary.

Kasasira says the cause of the accident has not been pinpointed yet, and called on drivers on this busy route to be more cautious.

“We urge all motorists to remain vigilant on the road, avoid speeding especially during this festive season.”
