WBS TV Bounces Back Years Of Closure
Wavah Broadcasting Services( WBS) is set to relaunch in early 2020 after it’s collapse in 2016.
WBS Television was closed on 14th of December 2016 over arrears of Shs 7.2 billion by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
7 months after URA announced receivership of the television in April 2016, it closed and a number Journalists and Media professionals became jobless.
It is now reported that the once giant Television company is set for a come back like it never closed shop.
It is reported the tycoon is investing over 1 billion in this venture. His son is said to be the brain behind the re-opening of the media house and they have started recruiting media personnel.
“They have started looking for workers and I can see them recruiting more from BBS Telefeyina and NTV Uganda. They are mostly considering talent,” source which preferred anonymity said.
It should be noted that WBS’s former home in Naguru was recently sold to Next Media group owned by Kin Kariisa.
