Baine Elevated in New Changes In Prisons

The Commissioner of Uganda Prisons Dr Johnson Byabashaija on Friday announced changes among his officers at various positions and ranks

According to standing orders dated June 26 affected 42 officers, several officers were appointed to new positions, some were transferred while others were sent on leave

“These orders take immediate effect. All leave must strictly be taken outside the Institutions. The Director Administration should facilitate execution of these orders without delay.” reads part of the order

Among those appointed is the Prisons Spokesperson Commissioner of Prisons (CP) Frank Baine who has been assigned to head the corporate affairs department of the institution

Recently President Museveni elevated Baine from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Prisons to a full Commissioner.

CP Wilson Francis Magomu from Prisons Headquarters has been appointed CP in charge of Security and Service Operations.  He hands over the Custodial Services to Mr. Apollo Baker Asinjah, ACP, who is now appointed Ag. CP Custodial Services.

CP Raphael Olinga from Prisons Headquarters is the new  in charge of Product Promotion and Distribution.

CP Gervase Tumuhimbise has been appointed CP in charge of General Administration and Social Welfare Services, while Hillary Bisanga is now the CP in charge of Logistics Management.

Mr. Jude Tadeo Kaliisa, CP, Prisons Headquarters, is appointed CP in charge Prisons Projects Development but he retains the Portfolio of Seed Multiplication and Cotton Production.
