Police Track Down Man Who Killed Three Children in Kiboga

A joint security team comprising of Police and detectives from sister security agencies have Tuesday revealed that they have tracked and arrested the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of three children that happened in Kiboga district last week.

The suspect who is currently under custody in Kyankwazi is said to have kidnapped three children from the home of Hassan Barigye, a resident of Kiboga district and later killed them.

Reports indicate that the juveniles were killed after three days when their parents failed to raise a ransom of one million shillings.

The suspect who has been identified as Isma John Nsamba alias John Kakongoro aged 23 years old  is reported to have been harvested from his hide out in Bukwiri village, Butemba TC, Kyankwanzi district.

The suspect allegedly slit the throats of the three juveniles using a sharp object which is yet to be identified.

The deceased juveniles were called Sulait Mutesi, 3, Nayebare Nusura, 7, and Asiimwe Natukunda aged 10 years old.

In a statement released by spokesperson Fred Enanga, the teams have been tracing him since 11th December when he left a note with a mobile telephone number at the residence of Mr Hassan Barigye to call him and negotiate the ransom.

“He admitted to his involvement in the triple murder of the juveniles together with Allan Mawanda who was arrested earlier on 15/12/2019,” Mr Enanga said.

Adding that the suspect also said that he killed the children because he feared to be identified since he had already been paid a ransom of Shs500.000.

Earlier in a press briefing on Monday, Police revealed they had established that the prime suspect was a mason Who had committed the heinous crime.

Upon arrest, Police confirmed that the suspect had a personal vendetta that the father to the victims refused to pay him Shs500,000 after constructing a house for him.

Police said that John and Mawanda have been charged with kidnap and murder.

However, they are also charged with other four people identified as Engineer Godfrey Katerega, Ali Hudson, Ivan Sendeka and Ivan Ntwasi who are believed to be accomplices in the crime.
