Frightened Teenager Takes Own Life After Attending Night Disco

There was a shock after a teenage girl who disappeared from her parent’s home to party at a local Christmas disco on 25th December has committed suicide.

The unfortunate incident happened on Boxing Day in Kibaale district.

David Otabong, the Kibaale District Police Commander, identifies the deceased as Juliet Ayesiga, he says her dead body was found hanging on a tree.

Otabong says Ayesiga escaped from home to attend a disco on Christmas day in Kikaada trading Centre.

The deceased was a daughter to Steven Baralekaki and Margret Birungi, both residents of Rwega village in Bubango Sub County.

Otabong says they believe that the teen committed suicide after fearing to return home from the disco. He notes that Ayesiga’s lifeless body was immediately handed over to the family for burial.

He appeals to parents to always strive to forge a mutual working relationship with their children to avoid such occurrences.

However, the deceased’s paternal uncle, William Birungi told claims that prior to her death, Ayesiga was battling some strange illness on her leg for some time, which could have prompted her to end her life.
