Cranes Goalkeeper Salim Jamal Reports Al Hilal to FIFA, Demands Contract Termination

Uganda Cranes second choice goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola has reported his current club Al Hilal Sports Club to the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) dispute resolution chamber.

Magoola, who is Goalkeeper Dennis Onyango Masinde’s deputy on the National team, based his petition on accumulated unpaid salary arrears.

The complaint seen by ChimpReports was lodged by Jamal’s representatives Juan de Dios, Crespo Perez, Alfonso Leon and Gytis Rackauskas to FIFA head of player status, Erika Montemor Ferreira.

“Statement of claim against the Sudan football club Al-Hilal Sports Club before FIFA dispute Resolution chamber with regards to the present international employment related contractual dispute between the claimant and the respondent in connection with the unilateral premature termination of the employment contract with just cause for outstanding salaries pursuant to the provision of the article 14bis of the FIFA regulations on the status and transfer of players,” read the statement.

Salim Jamal joined Al Hilal SC from rival opponents El Merriekh in 2018, both based in South Sudan.

He had stints with Uganda Premier League clubs KCCA FC and Express FC before his professional abroad career took off.

A bunch of Ugandan players have previously parted ways with their respective clubs over unpaid salary dues including Savio Kabugo (Sebeta Kenema), Yasser Mugerwa (Sehul Shire), Joel Madondo (Wydad Casablanca) and Taddeo Lwanga (Tanta SC).
