New NRM App Hoped to Ease Scientific Campaigns
A new Application for the National Resistance Movement will soon be launched to allow voters and electoral candidates to interact more using the internet as Uganda heads for a scientific election scheduled for next year 2021.
The new app allows users to access any information on any NRM activities and achievements, ask questions to the candidates and current leaders of NRM, but also gives a platform for candidates to launch their manifestos to the voters.
According to Saad Sumayah, one of the minds behind the app, this new development is timely as Uganda heads to the campaign period leading to next year’s election.
“We considered the fact that Uganda was going to have a scientific election for the first time because of Covid 19 and realised it was going to be hard for Candidates to reach their supporters. A platform like this will help in bridging the gap” she said.
The App, which is available for both androids and iOS is in five different languages but will include more if there is demand. The Application which is mainly for NRM supports will include NRM Updates, Ask the President and Secretary General slot, NRM Manifesto, NRM Live events, Achievements of NRM, community engagement and more.
“The platform offers an opportunity for voters and average Ugandans to ask questions directly to their leaders. It also has contacts of all RDCs and their Deputies and any information that you may need especially on NRM party. We urge all Ugandans to take advantage of the new development so as to actively involve them in politics without having to risk their safety,” Sumayah added.
The Application was developed by a team from Afrosoft IT solutions limited, an innovation hub that has been working to help young entrepreneurs and innovation to develop technologies that help communities.
