UFL: Sabiiti’s Strike Inspires SLAU Triumph

Isaaya Sabiiti scored a late strike was enough to see St Lawrence University (SLAU) through to a narrow 0-1 away victory against YMCA in the University Football League on Wednesday.
Sabiiti scored a 76th minute tap in off a Kasule Ibrahim cross to give the visitors maximum points as they walked away from Buwambo campus.
This was SLAU’s second successive victory in this campaign after a 4-1 victory against Bishop Stuart in their opening group D fixture.
YMCA shot stopper, Mark Esalu kept out Ibrahim Kasule after 13 minutes before Mugisha Bulasiyo blocked Bunyanga Bruno’s effort in the 37th minute.
Seruwu Collins had a chance to double the visitors’ lead, only for Esalu to make a timely clearance off the line.
St Lawrence University now progress to six points, top group D as YMCA remains in second place on three points.
YMCA had won their first match 2-1 against Makerere University Business School (MUBS) before this defeat.
MUBS and Bishop Stuart settle in the 3rd and 4th respectively without any point, prior to their face off this Sunday.
