Magogo Increases Winning Bonuses After Uganda’s Spirited Triumph Over Tanzania

FUFA president Eng. Moses Hashim Magogo was overwhelmed by Uganda’s obliterating performance in the Tanzania 5-0 win during the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers return leg at Lugogo.
Magogo, who had earlier promised a $200 winning bonus to each player provided Uganda overturns the 1-2 first leg defeat and progress to the final qualification round, changed his minds though as he cut the bonus to $100.
The CAF Executive Committee member increases the players’ winning bonuses by One hundred dollars ($100) and this was revealed during the dressing room post-match address.
FUFA Communications Director, Ahmed Hussein Marsha has confirmed to ChimpReports about the new development in an online interview.
“Yes, the FUFA president has increased their winning bonuses by $100 which will be transferred on their accounts on Monday,” he noted.
Uganda obliterated Tanzania 5-0 (6-2 on agg) to progress to the final qualification round, a game that attracted a huge turn up of spectators who filled the StarTimes Stadium.
Margaret Kunihira, Grace Aluka, Fauziah Najjemba and Juliet Nalukenge’s brace guided Uganda to a stunning victory at home.
Uganda next plays Cameroon, a side that ejected Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 on aggregate, in the final qualification round.
The winner between Uganda and Cameroon will book a berth in the 2020 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup tournament scheduled to take place in India.
