Hamis Kizza Strike Inspires Proline Victory Over Kiboga Young

Stanbic Uganda Cup defending champions Proline advanced to the quarterfinals of the 46th edition after a 0-1 win against Kiboga Young on Saturday evening.

Hamis Diego Kizza’s first half strike was enough to see Proline through, joining the money bracket at Mbale Municipal playground with hosts Kiboga Young seeing an automatic elimination.

Kizza could have posted a brace on the evening but his penalty kick was thwarted away by goalkeeper Steven Makamba.

Elsewhere, Tooro United surrendered their early lead before losing 1-2 at home to Big League side, Kitara Football Club at the St Paul Seminary playground in Fort Portal.

Yafesi Mubiru had fired Tooro United in the lead before Maxwell Kamurali and Patrick Abigaba strikes led the spirited comeback.

Proline, KCCA, Kyetume,  Kitara and Light SS are the four teams which have already progressed to the quarter finals of this season’s tournament.
