Health Ministry Installs Videoconferencing Equipment to Reduce Human Contact

The Minister of Health Hon Dr Ruth Aceng has received telemedicine solutions hoped to assist in the fight against COVID-19 in Uganda.

This equipment which was installed at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Wandegeya will assist the medics in real time communication and interactions without physical contact with each other.

It includes video conferencing equipment that shall enable mobile video meetings and communications among staff in various sites such as health centres and ministry of health.

While receiving this donation from Huawei, Dr. Aceng said “I am very grateful for this wonderful and timely donation which will be of great importance to this  country especially during this period of COVID 19 Pandemic.”

Mr. Bai Chengyu, Huawei’s Executive Director Enterprise Business group said the video conferencing equipment has been installed at different offices at the Ministry and Mulago referral hospital for effective interactions

“This video conference and telemedicine solution has been implemented all over China, Thailand and Pakistan among others to assist in the fight against COVID-19 and I hope this shall also be of help here,” he said.

This system can be connected to others of the same in other countries to facilitate international collaborations.
