FUFA President Magogo Weighs in on Combating COVID-19
Standing on 14 confirmed cases, it is safe to say that Uganda is grappling with the COVID19 pandemic together with the world.
With an aim of sensitizing the masses on how to curb and overcome the global crisis, different sports personalities, musicians, political and religious leaders have come up with different messages.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Eng Moses Magogo is the latest, echoing his views on how to mitigate the coronavirus.
Magogo, am member of CAF Executive Committee recorded a video that went viral on social media giving precautions on how to overcome the threat.
“The human race is under attack by the Coronavirus (COVID19) and I add my voice to the millions of people around the world in the fight against this virus. I call upon everyone to follow the guidelines by his Excellency president Museveni and the Ministry of Health in order to prevent the pandemic,” said Magogo.
He added, “Despite there being no known medicine or vaccine yet, the human body has proven to be able to fight the virus. As of today, 85% of the concluded cases are recoveries. Say no to Stigma of the infected cases let us show care and love, together we shall defeat it.”
The recommended products to fight the spread of the COVID 19 include detergents such as the sanitizers, soap and mechanisms like masks and gloves.
Magogo joins other Ugandan sports men like the Uganda Cranes goalkeepers Dennis Onyango Masinde (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa) and Salim Jamal Magoola (Al Hilal, Sudan) in weighing in on the situation.
Other Uganda Cranes with morale-boosting messages so far have been goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya, Abdul Lumala, Allan Kateregga, Emmanuel Okwi, URA captain Shafik Kuchi Kagimu, Savio Kabugo, Juma Balinya andmany others.
