Security was this morning beefed up both inside and outside Buganda Road Court where Kyadondo East legislator Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu was expected to appear for hearing of a case in which he is accused of holding unlawful meetings and protesting against Mobile Money and social media taxes.

Armed officers both in uniform and civilian attire could be seen monitoring the situation as well as keeping a keen eye on where more than two people stood.

Inside court, scores of supporters turned up, dressed in the red ties and the banned red berets of the People Power pressure group.

There has also been traffic limitation along Buganda road starting from the Central Police station to Senana Supermarket, where only a few vehicles are being let through.

People entering court needed to undergo thorough checks, with caps, bottles and other items being confiscated.

In this case, Bobi Wine and four others are alleged in July 2018 to have held a Public meeting at City Square Kampala as they challenged the introduction of social media tax (OTT) and mobile money tax, without following provisions of Sections 5 and 10 of the Public Order Management Act.
