Nalukenge Voted Fortebet Real Stars Player Of January

Juliet Nalukenge of Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club, Uganda U17 and U20 football player has been voted the Fortebet Real Stars Player for the month of January.

Nalukenge the reigning Airtel FUFA female footballer for 2019 clinched the gong having beaten URA FC duo of Cromwell Rwothomio and Saidi Kyeyune.

On the way to the crown, Nalukenge scored four goals for Uganda U17 and U20 against Ethiopia and Tanzania respectively in the FIFA U17 and U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier matches.

She scored three goals against Ethiopia for the U17 team before scoring for Uganda U20 away in Dar es Salaam in the same month.

In the other categories, URA FC coach Sam Ssimbwa won the best coach of the month beating Khalifa Ayub the Uganda U-17 national women head coach and Kawempe Muslim  FC manager as well as Bright Stars’ head coach Paul Kiwanuka. Ssimbwa guided URA to five victories during the month of January and one draw.

In the Rugby category Heathens’ Scott Oluoch was named the best of January having been exceptional in the on-going Rugby league where they remain top of the table and unbeaten.

Oluoch beat competition from teammate Joseph Oyet and Kobs’ Daudi Ssemwami to the award.

The January winners

In Boxing, 2019 All Africa Games Silver medalist Isaac Masembe was named the most outstanding boxer for the month of January 2020.

Masembe defeated Jonah Kyobe in the Middle weight category final of the national Olympic qualifiers at Lugogo last month to book a place on the Bombers team for the Africa Olympic qualifiers.

Isaac Masembe defeated David Ssemujju and female boxer Doreen Nassali to the award.

Masembe who is way for the Olympic qualifiers games in Senegal was represented by the National Boxing team manager Zebra Mando Ssenyange.

Fortebet’s Executive Director Bernard Rwakihembo congratulated the winners and highlighted why they came on board to partner with Real Stars Sports Agency.

“We have come on board to partner with the Real Stars Sports Awards mainly to support sports in the country.  We therefore encourage every person including companies to join and sponsor the awards,” he said.

Fortebet now holds the naming rights of the monthly awards and joins Jude Color Solutions as joint sponsors of the initiative.

The seventh edition of the monthly awards that aims at recognizing most outstanding Sports personalities took place on Monday at Copper Chimney, Lugogo.

It is believed that Fortebet will inject a total of Ten million Ugandan shillings (UGX 10,000,000) in every outing that will be held to award excelling individuals.

In attendance for the awarding ceremony was MP Latif Ssebagala, Mujib Kasule (Proline Football Club director), Shibella Bakamaze (Jude Colour Solutions assistant promotions manager) and Bernard Rwakihembo (Executive director, Fortebet).
