Anukani Bags Brace in Proline Win

Bright Anukani scored twice in Proline’s 2-1 victory over fellow relegation strugglers Tooro United on a cloudy Tuesday evening at Lugogo.

Anukani put Proline in the lead 19 minutes into the game with a sublime finish past custodian Crispus Kusiima.

In the 74th minute, Hakim Kiwanuka had his shot blocked in the area only to find the sensational playmaker Anukani who had a clinical tap in and completed his brace. He was named man of the match as he took his tally to three goals in the campaign.

Four minutes later, Tooro United pulled one back through a Mike Kawooya penalty after Proline’s defender, James Begesa handled the ball in box.

Winger Kiwanuka nearly restored Proline’s two goal lead when his stunning shot off Diego Hamis Kizza rattled the cross bar and went out for a goal kick.

Begesa turned hero for the hosts on the 90th minute mark when he cleared a Nicholas Kagaba goal-bound ball off the line.

The action was far from over as Kagaba beat the offside trap and rounded off goalkeeper Hassan Matovu but his shot met turned hero Begesa who made a priceless and timely clearance off the line.

Proline despite victory remains bottom of the log with 21 points, one adrift Tooro United that remains in 15th place.

Proline will visit KCCA FC on Tuesday, 3rd March while Tooro United play host to SC Villa four days later in Fort Portal.

Express 1-2 URA

Busoga United 1-0 Wakiso Giants

URA inflicted the first defeat to coach Wasswa Bbosa since his return to Express following a 1-2 result at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

Senyonga Mikidad and Anwar Ntege scored for the tax collectors in either half while Frank Kalanda found Express’ consolation in the closed door affair.

After the home defeat, Express remain 11th on 28 points, six above the relegation zone. They visit Maroons in the next league match.

Their opponents, URA went on to 40 points and sit in fourth position as await for Police FC at the Arena of Visions-Bombo in the next match.

In Jinja, ten man team Busoga United edged Wakiso Giants 1-0 at the Mighty Arena thanks to a Sharif Kimbowa’s 15th minute strike.

David Bagoole set up Kimbowa in an enticing build up, who beat Wakiso Giants’ goalkeeper Derrick Emukule to hand Coach Deo Serwadda his first defeat in charge of the Purple Sharks.

Busoga United’s captain Kasonko George was sent off the pitch in the 68th minute after a second bookable offense. This counts as Busoga’s second red card in the last three league games.

Victory put Busoga United on 39 points in 5th position ahead of their next league match against Kyetume FC at the same venue.

On the other side,Wakiso Giants remain 10th on 29 points after 24 games as they next entertain Vipers Sports Club.
