Rhinos huffed and puffed in the second half but only got a weak link late on to break through the resilient backline of Buffaloes at Legends Rugby Grounds.

The Kyadondo-based visitors opened their account with Donald Oketayot’s good penalty after an infringement by Rhinos close to their 15 metre line.

Man of the match Wilfred Seguya then later delivered when he broke through with a kick that released him clear for touch under the uprights.

The side camped in Buffaloes half for quite a while until Solomon Agany compounded them with more misery. He crushed over in fashion to dent their hopes of a comeback.

Aaron Wanyoto later forced his way through to touch for Buffaloes again as he extended the points’ gap to 20.

It took Rhinos quite some effort to get a try late on, as they had to beak an organized back line – marshaled by former Heathens’ coach, now player – Brian Tabaruka.

Byron Atubikire found space towards the far left corner to score the hosts’ only try as Wanyoto was eventually overwhelmed. Andrew Kene converted for the final score; Rhinos 07-20 Buffaloes.
