UNAF Women U-21: Algeria Kicks Off with Win Over Egypt

The hosts of the Union of North African Football Associations (UNAF) Women U-21 Algeria kicked off the tournament in style with a 3-0 win Egypt at Dar El Beida Stadium in Algiers on Sunday December 22.

Ghada Ghannouch scored first after five minutes before Kholoud Ornani added the second goal in the 21st minute.

In the second half, Nassima Bakhti scored from the spot after 55 minutes, as Algeria opened their campaign with a dominant victory.

Also in Match-Day one and on the same pitch, Morocco defeated Burkina Faso 1-0. Hajar El-Raqqas scored the match’s lone goal in the 71st minute, to give Morocco its first victory in the championship.

The tournament is played in a mini-league system with five teams taking part, namely Algeria, Morocco and Egypt, in addition to two guests from outside UNAF in Burkina Faso and Tanzania.
