Rukungiri Police Officer Perishes in Accident

The Rukungiri Police Station’s acting Station Manager Charles Sabasore has died in a car accident.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesman says Sabasore died on Saturday at around 10pm while driving his Toyota Starlet registration number UAQ 345V along Republic Street in Rukungiri Municipality.

The officer is said to have lost control, overturned and sustained serious injuries, and was admitted at Case Clinic Rukungiri.

Later on he was referred to Mbarara regional referral hospital for further management but died on Sunday morning along the way.

Maate says the vehicle has been towed in the yard for the Inspector of Vehicles as inquiries carry on to establish the cause of the accident.
