2nd Annual Higher Education Conference set for Next Week
The National Council for Higher Education is organizing the second annual education conference aimed at discussing the role of 4th Industrial Revolution in the education sector.
The 2-day conference will take place at Hotel Africana from Monday 16th to 17th March under the theme; “Higher education and the private sector Engagement: Preparing Uganda’s Human Capital for the 4th Industrial revolution.
According to Dr Ayine Robert, a senior higher education officer at NCHE, the conference will largely focus on the impact of the 4th industrial revolution and its impacts on the way of life.
“The world has evolved. The 4th industrial revolution is upon us and it is important for us to find ways on how we can take advantage of the new technologies to make our lives better. During the conference, we will discuss issues to do with artificial intelligence, robotic, virtual reality, internet of things and how their impact on our everyday life,” he said in a phone interview with Chimpreports.
The conference will be attended by government officials, heads of higher institutions of learning, the private sector and representatives of students.
The Minister of State for Higher Education, Hon John. C Muyingo is expected to officiate the conference.
