Micho ‘The Serbian Wolf’ Needs The Zimbabwe National Team Job

Sredjovic Micho is among the many coaches who applied for the Warriors coaching job which is vacant since Sunday Chidzambwa resigned following a poor Africa Cup of Nations campaign last June in Egypt.

The Serbian tactician already dubbed Zimbabwe national team as a project that needs to be developed before qualifying for the 2021 AFCON tournament.

“Iam interested in the project, not just the job,” Micho told the Daily Sun newspaper of SouthAfrica from Qatar where he is watching the FIFA club world cup.

The development comes a week after reports linking ‘The Serbian Wolf’ to a reunion with Sudanese giants El Hilal Omdurman.

Micho is most remembered for guiding Uganda to the first ever AFCON qualification in 39 years two years ago.

However, it is still not certain whether the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) can afford to hire a foreign coach because of their weak financial muscle.

It should be remembered that Zimbabwe missed out the 2018 FIFA club world cup qualification campaign due to a FIFA ban following a payment dispute with Brazilian coach Valinhos.

The 50-year old Serbian is the favorite for the job having coached on the African continent for close to two decades.

He has coached at Sc Villa(Uganda), St. George(Ethiopia), El Hilal Omdurman(Sudan), Yanga(Tanzania), Orlando Pirates(South Africa) and most recently Zamalek(Egypt). He also coached th Rwanda national team before taking charge of Uganda Cranes.
