KCCA FC Eager To Finish First Round With A Win

KCCA FC will be aiming at finishing the first round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a win when they host Proline FC in the much anticipated Lugogo derby at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo.

This will be the last fixture of the first round of the Startimes Uganda Premier League 2019/20 season.

“We want to end the first round on a high, the only way we can do that is picking maximum points against Proline FC. We face an enterprising side in Proline FC and we expect them to give us a run for their money,” KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi said in the pre-match press conference before adding.

KCCA FC enters this game after winning 4-1 against old rivals SC Villa that saw them move to second place on the log with 29 points.

“The win against SC Villa gave the team more confidence especially for the teenagers Kafumbe, Musa and Ssenyonjo. Playing a game that huge and delivering is a positive for me and them.”

“I will keep handing the youngsters opportunity to play and showcase their ability.”

“We are top of the scoring charts in the first round but i believe we can do better than that.”

A win against Proline FC will get them to 32 points, four away from current league leaders Vipers SC.

The hosts Proline FC lie bottom of the log with nine points from fourteen games played so far.

Gift Ali and Charles Lukwago are in contention to face their former employers Proline FC. The pair will be hoping the Lugogo derby is a continuation of a series of their good displays for the club.

KCCA FC players on loan at Proline FC, Hassan Matovu and Wammanah Ibrahim will not feature in the game.

Teenagers Joseph Kafumbe and Sam Ssenyonjo are likely to make the matchday squad again while Jackson Nunda, Peter Magambo, Jurua Hassan, Sadam Juma, and Sadat Anaku are ruled out due to injury.
