Museveni Mourns Justice Tsekoko
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last weekend sent out condolences to the family of the former Supreme Court judge Wilson Tsekoko Natuubu who passed away earlier in the week.
Tsekoko was laid to rest on Saturday in Butiru, Manafwa District.
In his condolence message, President Museveni sympathized with the family for the loss.
“Please accept, on behalf of my family and that of the Government of Uganda, our sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathies. May God comfort you at this most difficult time of grief”
The President described the late Tsekoko as a great man of experience who served the country wholeheartedly in various capacities.
“The country shall remain indebted to his dedicated service in the Judiciary, where he worked as state Attorney, High Court Judge and Justice of the Supreme Court. I trust that those he leaves behind shall emulate his example”
“As government we have always banked on the Judiciary to help us achieve the goals of sustainable development. As you are aware, the presence of good governance, democracy, and security are good indicators of the presence of the rule of law in a country”
Tsekoko was one of the Minority Supreme court justices who on two occasions nullified the election of President Museveni in the election petitions filed before the highest court of the land
Tsekoko passed away early this week at Norvik Hospital in Kampala where he had been admitted for some weeks battling with Prostate cancer
He survived with a widow Pauline Tsekoko, eight children and nine grand children
In the requiem mass which was held on Thursday at St Luke’s Church Ntinda a number of speakers described the late as one of the independent, incorruptible and hardworking officers who will be greatly missed for his distinguished service
