CHAN 2020: Cranes Seals Slot For Finals
Uganda Cranes sealed a slot for the 2020 TOTAL Championship of African Nations (CHAN) finals after defeating Burundi 3-0 in the return leg played at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Saturday.
Fahad Bayo, Vianney Sekajugo and Allan Okello netted the goals that inspired Uganda Cranes to qualify 6-0 on aggregate.
Bayo scored the first goal as early as the 5th minute after getting a sweet pass from Mustafa Kizza.
Sekajugo got the second in the 71st minute after moments after replacing Mike Mutyaba off a well laid cross from Willa.
The last nail in the coffin of Burundi was sealed by Allan Okello in the 83rd minute after the Burundian shot stopper’s goal kick didn’t reach its endpoint.
This is the fifth consecutive time that Uganda Cranes will play at the Chan finals following earlier successes in 2011 (Sudan), South Africa (2013), Rwanda (2016) and lately Morocco (2018).
