Student loan scheme: Application deadline extended due to Covid-19
Government has extended the deadline for the students’ loan application due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the executive director of Higher Education Students’ Financing Board, Michael Wanyama, announced.
In a statement, Wanyama said the deadline for the application has been on several times pushed because many institutions had not admitted students due to the pandemic.
“You remember we have been extending the deadlines for the application of students’ loan and the board has again approved the extension to 15th October for the persons applying for undergraduate degree,”he said.
“Those who are applying for the diploma programmes,we have also postponed to 31 October 2020. This is because many students have not yet been admitted especially students who applied at Kyambogo University,”he added.
He urged students to profitably utilise this time given to them in order to beat the deadline.
“You remember during lockdown, it was impossible to move and obtain relevant signatures as required in the application form,”Wanyama said.
“Now you have the time.”
