The Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Frank Tumwebaze, has pledged to continue advocating for the scaling up of all the needed social services for the people of his constituency, Kibale East in Kamwenge district.
He made the remarks after his nomination on as NRM flag bearer for the constituency ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Tumwebaze said services such as clean water, electricity, modernisation of education and health infrastructure are needed to improve the service coverage gaps in the area.
“In addition to advocating for the scaling up of these social service delivery programs, I will add on a component of skilling the youth and women entrepreneurs,”he said.
He said his driving principle in this endeavour will be “skilling to learn and learning to earn”.
“Yes we have brought many service delivery projects to our area that we never had before like more schools, more health centres, more water schemes among others but we must in the coming term also now focus on improving people’s livelihoods,”he noted.

He applauded the people of Kibale East for their immense love, support and prayers that pushed him through the party primaries with a landslide victory of 82%.
