Transfers: Striker Okwir Could Join UPL New Entrants

Former Vipers Sports Club striker Dickens Okwir has reportedly agreed terms to join newly Uganda Premier League promoted side, Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) football club.

Okwir joined Vipers SC from Paidha Black Angels at the start of last season and made his debut during the club’s FUFA Super Cup match against KCCA FC at Wankulukuku.

However, he failed to claim a starting position in the team’s roster and was loaned back to Paidha where he completed the last season.

He was among the 13 players that were released by the UPL Champions and his next destination could be Bombo barracks.

Previously, Okwir played for Ngora Fredcarr FC, Sporting United Lira, Onduparaka FC, Amuka Bright Stars, Paidha Black Angels SC and Vipers SC.

The Armyside has already acquired significant reinforcements in former Proline quartet including Ronnie Kisekka, Simon Mbaziira, James Begesa and Ibrahim Wamannah.

Other players who have joined the club include Gadaffi Gadinho and Tony Kyamera among others.

The club will be coached by Kefa Kisala who was recently appointed as a replacement for Steven Bogere.
