Soltilo Bright Stars Unveil Goalkeeper Wagima
Uganda Premier League outfit Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club has signed goalkeeper Benson Wagima from Busoga United.
The 2018/2019 Stanbic Uganda Cup golden glove winner Wagima returns to his former side on a two-year deal and will stay at the club until 2022.
The 23-year-old formerly played for Jinja Youth Academy, Wakukuba West FC, Kirinya Jinja SSS (while in Big League), Busoga United and Jinja Municipal Council Hippos (JMC Hippos).
The former Walukuba West Primary School and Yale High School student who is notably known for his leadership skills on the pitch, will vie with Godwin Buule and Simon Tamale for a starting place in goal at the Stars.
The 2018/2019 Uganda Cup finalists have also signed former Kitara FC midfielder Jamir Nvule Kisitu, former KCCA FC forward Samuel Sekamatte Kayongo, defender Ibrahim Kibumba and Uganda Hippos striker Saddam Masereka.
Bright Stars ended the 2019/2020 season with 29 points positioned in 12th before the league was cut short after Coronavirus outbreak.
