Ntungamo Church Equipment Stolen

Police in Ntungamo District are investigating an incident where suspected thieves broke into Kagamba Catholic Church in Kajara County on Monday night and made away with property worth millions of shillings.

The suspects believed to be from within the area, gained access into the Church in the night according to the church leaders.

Rev. Fr. Alphonse Mukundane, the Kagamba catholic parish say the s thieves broke the main entrance door and dismantled all padlocks to gain access into the church where valuable items were kept.

Rev Fr Mukundane says they stole a public address system, power amplifiers, cables, speakers and other church property worth over UGX 2M.

“This is the second time thieves broke into Kagamba Catholic Church. The last one was five years ago” he said.

He attributed the theft to the crisis brought by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Damian Katwesiime the Ntungamo district police commander says police has commenced investigations and that no suspect has been apprehended yet.
