Rebranded Arua Hills SC Unveils Five-year Strategic Plan, New Leadership Committee
Newly rebranded Arua Hills Sports Club (formerly Doves All Stars), has unveiled their five-year strategic plan and ushered in a new leadership committe prior to the 2020/2021 FUFA Big League season.
Arua Hills SC whose name changed following FUFA’s approval, has also announced a new leadership during their first press conference held at Aangan Restaurant – Lugogo House in Kampala on Monday.
While addressing the media, Arua Hill Sports Club chairman Joel Aita who is also the chief development officer of Development Infrastructure, unveiled several former Onduparaka officials on the new leadership committe.
Anthony Afeti was officially unveiled as the club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Vegas Otelul as the Public Relations Officer, formerly at Onduparaka.
Also, Harunah Mawa was confirmed the club’s head coach whilst Richard Amatre is his assistant coach as Bosco Dudu assumes the technical director role.
When unveiling their five-year strategic plan, Club chairman Aita opened up on setting up new systems at the club and achieve qualification to the Uganda Premier League.
“We have a five year strategic plan that will guide us on what we want to be. First, we want to stabilize and set systems in place. To play very good football, you have to put systems in place. Within the two years, we want to qualify for the Uganda Premier League,” the chairman said.
The club also targets international engagements in Italy, United Kingdom, France and Israel and this will help them in the exchange of personnel and learning.
The team also plans to have a strong academy to house the huge talent in West Nile region while plans to have a women football team are in pipeline.
Aita belives the new strategic plan will bring the club out of the Onduparaka shadow and ably complement what the former has done.
“We want to pay big respect to Onduparaka, they have done a lot in promoting west Nile football. Very few people knew west Nile until Onduparaka came on board,” Aita said.
“However, Arua Hill sports club has come to complement what Onduparaka has done. There is more talent in West Nile and I strongly believe that we can build a partnership and hope we can promote the West Nile region together,” he added.
The club management is also in the final stages of constructing a 20,000 seater Aru Hill Park stadium (artificial surface).
The stadium will also accommodate a four star hotel, show room and apartments that will be a feeder to the sports project.
For the meantime, the club will be playing at Barifa stadium until the completion of Arua Hills Sports Club.
The club received One hundred million Ugandan shillings (Shs 100m) from Development Infrastructure as a sponsorship package.
Last season, Dove All Stars (now Arua Hills) finished the FUFA Big League season in the 6th position of the Elgon group.
