FUFA Postpones 2020/21 Uganda Premier League Season Kick-off Date
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has postponed the kick-off date for the long awaited 2020/2021 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
The next UPL season was initially scheduled to start on the 17th of October 2020 but the kick-off date has been pushed further by 30 days and is now most likely to start on 17th of November.
FUFA first vice president, Justus Mugisha disclosed the development during the 7th Annual General Assembly of the FUFA Super League Limited (FSLL) held at Ridar Hotel, Seeta on Saturday.
The AGM was attended by all the 15 Uganda Premier League clubs representatives alongside the National Council of Sports deputy secretary general (in charge of administration) Titus Kayigwa.
Also, FUFA third vice president Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, UPL Board chairman Ariniatwe Ruygendo, UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani among others were also in attendance.
In the same meeting, it was suggested that the FUFA Big League promotional play-offs will be hosted at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru in Jinja.
Kataka will play against Kitara and Ndejje University will face off with Kiboga Young in the semi-final duels.
The winner of the final will join MYDA FC and Ndejje University that directly booked their birth in next season’s Uganda Premier League.
