African Americans Told to “Come Home” Amid Racism Uprising

African Americans have been called upon to consider returning and investing in their mother continent, instead of living in a racist society of USA.

The East African Partners (EAP), the official ‘investment destination marketer’, of East African Countries made this call on June 8.

EAP encouraged African Americans to consider taking up investments in their countries and region instead of living as a shame in the White man’s racist society.

Isaac Kigozi, the Managing Director of EAP said that there it is high time for African Americans to consider returning to their cradle land, since different African countries have made arrangements to ensure a safe landing for these sons and daughters of the African continent.

“I stayed in the US for more than 20 years but a few years ago I chose to come back to settle home and I can attest to the fact that African governments have created a conducive environment to resettle those willing to settle home as well as those willing to set up business investments,” Kigozi said adding,

“I believe that it is time for our brothers and sisters to consider coming back home and focus on rebuilding Africa, their home instead of building the Caucasian man’s home,”

Mr Kigozi emphasized that there are enormous investment opportunities in Uganda and the East African region block, where these suffering African Americans can tap into, and not only build their countries but also provide employment opportunities to their fellow brothers and sisters who are jobless.

“These opportunities range from Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Tourism, Education, Health, Transport, Agriculture, Technology, among others,” he noted.

“The region is also blessed with excellent labour force which is skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled as well as several infrastructural developments such as the good road networks, Electricity and water which all facility smooth running of any investment. Above all the people are so receptive and hospitability is deeply rooted in them; they are ready to receive you as brothers and sisters,” Kigozi emphasized.

This call comes in a time when African Americans have been joined by millions of people around the world to protest against racial discrimination that  left many of them treated to many kinds of injustice, following the gruesome murder of the late George Floyd, an African American who was killed by a Caucasian Police officer in the USA on May 25.

It should be noted that President Yoweri Museveni earlier this year encouraged African Americans to invest in different sectors of the economy, when he met their delegation at Liao Shen Industrial Park in Kapeeka, Nakaseke District.

Mr Museveni promised to render them any kind of support that they would need in setting up any investment venture.
