Seek Public Health Advise Before Lockdown is Lifted – Police Tells Business Owners
As anticipation rises on lifting the lockdown on the economy, Uganda Police Force has come out and advised business owners to seek public health guidance before opening up.
Police spokesman Fred Enanga said yesterday that in the last days of the 2 week lockdown extension, there was need for all Ugandans to continue to be vigilant and follow guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
“For business owners, it is important that they invite medical experts to guide them on how they can operate their businesses with public health measures in place and this should continue at every phase of the reopening of the economy,” Enanga said
Enanga emphasised public health guidelines to business owners which include keeping social distance between people in shopping areas and shops, mandatory temperature checks before entering malls and supermarkets and compulsory washing of hands with sanitizers.
The advice comes after the law enforcement body ordered the public to start wearing face masks wherever they’re away from their homes.
“Put on a mask when you’re away from home. If anybody is found without a mask he/she will be arrested,” Police said
Meanwhile, security agencies have also stepped up surveillance along Uganda -Tanzania borders since Tanzania stopped releasing Covid19 related cases.
