UPL: Police, SC Villa Share Spoils in An Entertaining Game

Police 2-2 SC Villa

Andrew Samson Kigozi and Fahad Kizito were on target for Police FC as they held SC Villa to a 2-2 draw at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo on Monday.

Bashir Mutanda and Nicholas Kabonge strikes salvaged a point for the Jogoos in an entertaining match played on a sunny evening.

SC Villa went into the lead 15 minutes into the game when Bashir Mutanda headed in a Derrick Ndahiro free kick past helpless goalkeeper Davis Mutebi.

Ibrahim Kibumba had been fouled by Henry Katongole from outside the box before the Jogoos went into the driving seat.

Later on, Police’s Silvester Semakula was booked for a foul and Villa’s free kick was wasteful.

With only two minutes to the break, Andrew Samson Kigozi put matters on the level after scoring a beauty for the Cops.

Dennis Rukundo played to Kaggwa who laid a left footed cross from the left wing in the box that met Kigozi’s half volley hitting the back of the net.

On the 45th minute, Nicholas Kabonge restored Villa’s lead with a far post stunner off a pass from Ambrose Kirya as the visitors bossed with a 1-2 halftime lead.

In the 63rd minute SC Villa withdrew first goal scorer Mutanda for Faizal Muwawu.

Police continued piling more pressure on SC Villa and got an equaliser when Fahad Kizito sent a long range bender into the top corner off Johnson Odong’s brilliant ball.

The result saw both sides share spoils as Police went on 22 points in the 12th while SC Villa remained 3rd on 33 points.

Next for Police is Mbarara City FC away from home while SC Villa will play host to Proline.
