Kitara Coach Twinamatsiko Outlines Season Targets

Kitara Football Club head coach, Mark Twinamatsiko is among few the philanthropic sports Personalities that have come out to extend support to the affected individuals in this Coronavirus pandemic time.

Last week, Twinamatsiko offered 50% of his monthly salary to his own players to help them through this trying moment.

“It was my own decision because in this time of quarantine you don’t have to have alot to give. We have very many rich people that are supposed to come up and help but they are silent,” the gaffer noted.

He added, “Secondly what are the model clubs with billion budgets doing? KCCA, Vipers SC, URA, BUL FC, Police, UPDF and others. They have the capacity but maybe they don’t have the man power to initiate this. I began with the players but will continue to give back to the community.”

The former Dove FC tactician has outlines ambitions of giving back to the orphans and elders in the few days coming.

“Am thinking of orphanage next and elders last. I will give back for the start but trust me one day I will start an orphanage,” said a humble Twinamatsiko.

Kitara FC advanced to the 2019/2020 Uganda Cup round of 16 after eliminating Tooro United. However, the vastly experienced gaffer prefers top flight promotion to the Cup triumph which comes as his secondary goal.

“We are in quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup but our main target is to gain promotion to the Uganda Premier League. As far as I can, my target is promotion and Uganda Cup is secondary,” he insisted.

When asked about his take on the newly proposed league reforms reforms that will see clubs reduced to only 12, Twinamatsiko declined commenting on the matter but hinted on the possible unemployment ramifications.

“They are proposals just and lets think about it because I don’t rush to speak and I give my self time and analyse. However, my biggest concern is on reduction of teams to 12 as this may cause unemployment to both players and coaches.”

Twinamatsiko joined FUFA Big League side Kitara FC from Masindi based side Dove FC at the beginning of the 2019/2020 season.

The FUFA Big League is one of the football divisions affected by the presidential directives that led to the suspension of all sports disciplines for 32 days as a way of combating of the global COVID 19 pandemic.
