Kisekka Unbothered Despite Tooro United Sacking

Tooro United Football Club on Saturday parted ways with their coach, Muhammad Kisekka and his assistant Sennyange Nzanziro Samuel.

The development comes after the duo failed to meet the club’s objectives together with the ‘unsanctioned media utterances’ from the head coach.

The Uganda Premier League side becomes the second team to show the door to Kisekka this season after managing Bright Stars Football Club.

When ChimpReports reached out to the gaffer, Kisekka was not moved by the management’s decision which he considers to be in the best interest of the club.

“I agree and stand firm to accept the decision of my bosses over leaving the job because I’m not the owner of the club. I believe this decision is in the interest of good results and surviving relegation,” Said Kisekka.

He added, “Together with all well-wishers of Tooro United FC, let’s join hands and pray for our team to survive and move in the right direction. May the Almighty Allah bless us all”

It should be noted that two weeks back, Kisekka was summoned to appear before the FUFA Ethics Committee for his statements made in the post-match press briefing following a defeat to SC Villa.

The soft-spoken gaffer alleged that some of his players had been involved in match fixing and was forced to make last minute changes in the lineup against SC Villa after being tipped off.

According to the ethics committee, Kisekka’s comments were in contradiction with the FUFA Ethics.

“Management announces today the 20th March 2020 that a decision has been taken to part ways with our head coach Mr Kisseka Mohammed and Mr Seenyange Nzanziro Samuel. This is as a result of the duo failing to meet the club’s set standards and targets of performance and unsanctioned press/media Utterances by the head coach,” reads the letter issued to club technical team.

Kisekka Joined Tooro United in January 2020 replacing Eric Ndifuna (interim), filling the void left by Wasswa Bbosa.

He also had stints with Paidha Black Angels and Bugerere Ssaza team featuring in the Masaza Cup tournament.

Tooro United is currently bottom on the Uganda Premier League table standings, having 22 points from 25 games.

With just five games left to end the regular season, the Fortportal based side (formerly Soana FC) will have to announce a new coach to give them the slightest chance of surviving the drop.
