Fire Razes Amos Nzeeyi’s Residence

Fire on Friday evening gutted houses belonging to prominent businessman Amos Nzeyi at his residence in Kabale town.

The fire according to a security guard deployed at the house, destroyed the “boys’ quarters” at the tycoon’s house located at Rugarama Hill near St Peter’s cathedral.

The security guard, Kenneth Mutaremwa says his individual efforts to contain the flames were futile, since he was the only one at home.

At the time the Police fire brigade arrived, he said, it was too late.

Some of the things destroyed included mattresses, clothes, beds, plates, among other house properties.

Julius, Tayebwa of the Fire Brigade at Kabale central police station says  they received a phone call about the fire when it was too late because no one was at home by the time it started.

Tayebwa says preliminary investigations show that the fire could have been caused by an electric short circuit from one of the rooms
