Okello And Nalukenge Are 2019 Champions

KCCA Fc forward Allan Okello and Kawempe Muslim Juliet Nalukenge are the male and female players of the year 2019 at an event held at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Saturday 14th December.

The KCCA midfielder becomes the latest Kasasiro boy to win the award following the footsteps of Muzamir Mutyaba who won the accolade in 2017.

Allan Okello also recieved a brand new Subaru Forester courtesy of the sponsors.

Okello won the Startimes Uganda Premier League, the FUFA super cup and th CECAFA Kagame Cup and was part of the Cranes team that qualified for the 2020 championship of African Nations (CHAN) recently.

In the ladies category, Juliet Nalukenge was voted the FUFA women’s best player of the year ahead of Fauzia Najjemba and Hasifa Nassuna.

Nalukenge captained the U-17 girls national team to winning the COSAFA championship and she emerged top scorer with 18 goals. She helped Kawempe Moslem to winning both the national and East Africa secondary schools championship and scored a record of 62 goals in 2019.

The event was graced by Prof. Mondo Kagonyera who represented the first lady and minister of Education Janet Kataaha Museveni as chief guest.

Big dignatories like Owek. Henry Sekabembe Kiberu the Buganda sports minister, FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo, Uganda Cranes Headcoach Jonathan McKinstry coaches and coaches and firmer players were all present.

Male Footballer of the year: Allan Okello (KCCA and Uganda Cranes).

Female Footballer of the year: Juliet Nalukenge (Kawempe Moslem and Crested Cranes).

FUFA Fans team of the year: Acholi Province.

FUFA Beach Soccer Player of the year; Sulaiman Ochero (St. Lawrence University and Uganda Sand Cranes).

FUFA Member Association of the year: Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA).

FUFA Fans Favourite Foreign based player of the year; Abdul Lumala (Pyramids, Egypt and Uganda Cranes).

FUFA Upcoming Talent of th year: Gavin Kizito Mugweri (Sc Villa and Uganda U-20 national team).

FUFA Best squad/team: Team of 1978.

FUFA Fair play Award: URA Fc

FUFA Women Football Coach of the year: Ayub Khalifa (Kawempe Moslem Women fc Headcoach, Assistant Crested Cranes coach, Headcoach U-17 Women team).

FUFA Male Football Coach of the year; Shafik Bisaso (Former Proline Headcoach).

FUFA Presidential Award: Majid Musisi.
