URA FC’s head coach Sam Ssimbwa and striker Cromwell Rwothomio Abang have been crowned the most outstanding coach and player  for January.
Unlike the previous cases, the nomination and voting was based on online voting which contributed 45% and the 55% from the technical team.
For Ssimbwa to be crowned January’s best coach, he won three and drew one of the four games played accumulating 10 points out of a possible 12 and gathered 50% votes from online voting.
Ssimbwa beat competition from Bright Stars head coach Paul Kiwanuka and Busoga United’s Abbey Kikomeko.
Kiwanuka had three wins and one loss accumulating nine points and gathering 26.1% from fans’ engagement online.
While Busoga United’s Kikomeko won three and lost one game gathering nine points out of a possible 12 in the games played with 27% votes online.
In the players category, Rwothomio  had three goals plus one man of the match performance getting 49.2% votes on twitter.
He beat competition from teammate  Saidi Kyeyune who scored one goal and two assists with one man of the match against Bright stars and Police’s Ben Ocen who had two goals with a 23 twitter percentage.
Both the coach and the player went away with One million Uganda shillings and a plaque.
Currently, URA Football Club has 33 points in the 4th position after 19 league games.
