FUFA Women Super League.

Midfielder Anita Namata scored the priceless goal that guided Kawempe Muslims to a maiden win over Kampala Queens at IUIU Grounds, Kabojja on Sunday.

Namata scored in the 66th minute when she slotted past goalkeeper Lydia Adubango to guide Kawempe Muslims  to the 5th  win of the season.

The four-time FUFA Women Super League winners missed their skipper Juliet Nalukenge but Shamira Nalugya played her role perfectly.

Sharon Naddunga and Anita Namata had other scoring opportunities but all went in vein.

Namata’s efforts rattled the woodwork while Naddunga missed from close range when Adubango collected her efforts.

Also Fauziah Najjemba had some scoring chances but failed to convert any thanks to a well standing backline of the visitors.

The result guided Kawempe Muslims to the top of the table following Lady Doves’ loss to Uganda Martyrs while Kampala Queens dropped to the fourth position.

Elsewhere, Lady Doves unbeaten run in the league this season came to a surprising end after falling to Uganda Martyrs High School 2-0 on Sunday.

Nakasi Latifa scored a second half brace to guide Uganda Martyrs to a thrilling win at the St. Gerald’s playground Lubaga.

Uganda Martyrs High School moved to the third place on 10 points while Lady Doves dropped to the second place on 13 points.
