Govt to Assist in Burial of Former Minister, Peter Otai
Government has promised to lend a hand in the final send-off of former Minister Peter Iloot Otai, who passed away last week.
Mr Otai, who served as Minister of State for Defence in Obote II Government died on Thursday January 2nd in London
Following the news of his demise, Prime Minister, Ruhakana Rugunda, convened a meeting comprising family members, relatives and friends at his office, to harmonize preparations of burial arrangements.
According to the Prime Minister’s spokesperson Julius Mucunguzi, Rugunda asked the Ministry of Public Service to coordinate and work with other relevant agencies of Government, the family, relatives and Teso Community leadership, to assist in the burial arrangements in Soroti, as per the wishes of the deceased.
“Before he passed on, President Yoweri Museveni had directed the Prime Minister to work with Mr Otai’s family, at the deceased’s request, to support his return to Uganda, but for medical reasons, that was not possible,” said Mucunguzi.
Burial arrangements have not communicated yet.
