Two Arrested For Killing Herdsman, Stealing Cattle In Wakiso

Police of Kajjansi have in custody two men suspected of murdering a herdsman and stealing 24 heads of cattle.

Police said that the incident was initially  reported as theft of cattle and disappearance of a person.

In a statement, Police indicated that “The case was reported by Simon Ssekayi aged 60 years old, a businessman, and a resident of Kitovu, Kitonde Parish, Ssisa Subcounty, Wakiso District.

In his report, Ssekayi says his cattle 24 in number and four sheep all valued at Shs 36 million had  been stolen by unknown persons and that his herdsman Kamugisha had also gone missing.

The incident happened on the 03/12/19 at unknown time.

According to Police, information was immediately sent out to different police communication channels and Police in Kikajo intercepted the suspects and they were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen cattle and sheep.

Police revealed that on interrogation, the suspects revealed to have stolen the animals from Kitovu and that they had killed the herdsman.

The duo led detectives to the scene where they murdered Kamugisha and the body was recovered and taken to city mortuary for postmortem.

The two suspects are identified as Kamu Nanjo and Isaac Odema. They have been charged with murder and theft.
