We Must Win Against Vipers – Mutebi
KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi believes that it is their responsibility as the defending champions to win all their remaining games especially the so-called big games.
This came when the Kasasiro Boys are preparing to take on table leaders Vipers at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Saturday November 16th, a game in which Mutebi believes that all his players must be at the best of their game.
“We have a responsibility to win this game. We are playing a team that has centered their case as an emerging force in Ugandan football,” Mutebi said before adding.
The ‘our way’ gaffer claims that the 13 times Uganda Premier League winners must show robustness as the defending champions as they aim at defending the league title.
“We want to front our case as defending Champions of the league. As a coach these are games you want to take part in and make sure the players display a good game of football for the fans to enjoy,” he noted.
Despite beginning the league on a low note, KCCA FC are fifth on the league log with 19 points from nine games, they could lead the table after the first round if they win all the six remaining games.
Their main focus is now on the league after a disappointing exit from both the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup after failing to make it to the group stage which was their ultimate target this season.
In the same vein, KCCA FC defender John Revita also claims that as a team, they have to show intent of retaining the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title this season.
“We want to win this game and keep the belief. As defending Champions, these are the games were you want to step up and show intent of retaining the cup,” Revita said in the pre-match press conference.
“We respect our opponents but this a game where we want to play for our badge, fans, and ourselves. We have done enough homework and we are ready,” he added.
